Signing Up For An Account
In order to get started with the Gamestar Mechanics, you will need to first sign up for an account. You can access the signup link directly here. As with all engagements, if you are working with a partner it is super important to use an email and password that BOTH of you will remember. I suggest adding this information to your project planner in case you need to access it later.
Once you've signed up for an account, you can log in each time by using the link above or this link here. Your goal can be to complete the first game design Quest or make/publish your own games.as many of the games as possible or even create your own game. You can even write your own SMART goal.

Getting Started
The first thing you'll want to do when using Gamestar Mechanic is work through the first quest to gain an understanding of how to use the tools and gain valuable resources for making your game. The more quests that you complete, the more resources you'll have when making your games. You can click on the quest sign when you first log into your account. It should look like this:
After the second day of the engagement, make sure to speak to me about getting an upgrade to your account that gives you access to two more full quests. As you complete these quests you'll be able to earn over 100 new sprites and 20 new backgrounds for your own games! Click here to see all of the additional features.
SMART Goals with Gamestar Mechanic
There are a number of directions you can go with your SMART goal in Gamestar Mechanic. The simplest (not to complete, but to write) would be to say that you will complete 100% of the Gamestar Mechanic quests. Another option would be to write a SMART goal that focuses on a game that you will complete as you move through the quests. It's really up to you! If you choose to focus your SMART goal on a game that you'll create, you may end up needing to keep your SMART goal more general until you get further along in the quests.
